Doris Pauline Lingafelter

Doris Pauline Lingafelter, 84 of rural Annapolis, IL, died at 3:01 p.m. Saturday, January 19, 2013 at her residence. She was born July 14, 1928 in Eaton, IL the daughter of Eugene Chauncey Hills and Mary Ethel Mitchell Hills. Doris was a housewife; worked at the Robinson Shoe Factory; worked in the office of L. S. Heath & Son from 1946 to 1956; drove a Hutsonville school bus from 1958 to 1971; was a bookkeeper at L. G. Hamilton from 1971 to 1972; was a U. S. Postal Clerk from 1963 to 1973; and was Post Master at Annapolis from 1973 to 1995 retiring at the age of 67.Doris married Sterle Lingafelter on August 30, 1947 and he preceded her in death on June 3, 2009. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Eugene (Curly) Hills, Jr; and her brother-in-law, Forrest Dawson.She is survived by her sister, Lois Dawson; her brother-in-law and his wife, Erland and Martha Lingafelter; her sister-in-law and her husband, Elaine and Rondell Napier; her nieces and nephews; Lisa (Steve) Tracy, Barbara (Richard) DeCamp, Robert (Angie) Dawson; Steve Lingafelter, Brad Lingafelter; and several great nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson with Randy Tracy officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, rural Annapolis, IL. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday preceding the services at the funeral home.
