Dorothy Wampler Venekamp Nieman, 96, of Robinson, IL, died at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at the Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson. She was born July 22, 1919, the daughter of Miles Edgington & Faye Cannon Edgington, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Raymond Wampler on November 1, 1938, and he preceded her in death in 1976. She then married Robert Venekamp on August 27, 1978 and he preceded her in death on January 5, 1992. She then married Joseph G. Nieman on February 16, 1997, and he preceded her in death on December 27, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Noble Edgington, Gerald Edgington, and Miles Edgington, Jr; by her sisters, Mary Alice Edgington and Catherine Wampler; and her 15 year old grandson, Raymond Wampler. Dorothy is survived by her two sons, James Wampler (Porter, IN) and Paul Wampler (Robinson, IL); two grandchildren, Tonya Nigro and Sarah Ger; three great-grandchildren; her sister, Norma Martin (Robinson, IL); her two brothers, Don Edgington (Las Vegas, NV), and Larry Edgington (Jonesville, MI); as well as several nieces and nephews. Dorothy was a homemaker and also enjoyed crocheting. She loved the Lord and could often be found reading her Bible. She took a trip to Israel which made a very real impact on her life and her faith. A time of visitation will be held from 1:00-3:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 1st at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Bro. Jack Clay officiating the service. Burial will follow in the Pleasant View Cemetery, rural Palestine.
