Edith Cox, 87, of Robinson, IL, died on March 21, 2015 at the Lawrence County Memorial Hospital in Lawrenceville, IL. She was born February 12, 1928 in Flat Rock, IL, the daughter of Lester Tohill & Bertha Higgins Tohill. She was a homemaker all her life, and was a member of the Hutsonville Historical Society and the Trimble Bible Church. Edith married Herschel L. Cox on February 3, 1951, and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Anna Mae Trout, Faye Haner and Martha Wampler; and two brothers, Harry Tohill and Henry Tohill. She is survived by four sons, Alvin Cox (Monroe, WA), Kenneth & Jane Cox (Belle Plaine, KS), Michael & Jeannie Cox (Robinson, IL), Daniel Cox (Atoka, OK); her daughter, Janet Epperson (Wichita, KS); ten grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; her sisters, Bernice Dunlap (Robinson, IL) and Melva & Maurice Williamson (Robinson, IL); as well as several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 25th at the Oak Grove Cemetery in rural Palestine, IL. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson is in charge of arrangements.
