October 28, 1936 — February 1, 2014

Edward D. Cannady, 77, of West York, IL, went home to be with his Lord and Savior at 4:10 p.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Heartland Manor in Casey, IL. He was born October 28, 1936 to Clada Ann St. John Cannady & William Guyer Cannady in Clark County, IL. Ed drove a milk truck for over 20 years and was involved in farming and used machinery sales. He was the Melrose Township Road Commissioner for several years. An active member of the First Baptist Church in West Union, IL, he was a deacon as well as a Sunday school teacher. Ed was a loving husband, devoted father and grandfather. He married Janet Draper Cannady on Dec 31,1955 and she preceded him in death on Nov 16th, 2013. She is surely welcoming him home at the gates of Heaven. Ed was also preceded in death by his parents; his father-in-law Howard Draper; and brother-in-law, Richard Draper. He is survived by his daughter & son-in-law, Joene & Murray Wheeler (West York); his grandson Zackary Wheeler (West York); his sister & brother-in –law Vera & Jim Ramsey (West York); his mother-in-law, Irene Draper (Marshall); and several nieces & nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 6th at the Prust-Hosch Funeral Home in West Union, with Brother Randy Nave officiating the service. Burial will be in the Bailiff Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 5th at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to LincolnLand Hospice or to the Bailiff Cemetery fund.
