It is with heavy hearts and profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Emilee Fitzwater, who departed from this world peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Emilee's journey on this earth may have ended, but her spirit remains vibrantly alive in the hearts of all who knew her.
Born on December 30, 1987, Emilee was the cherished daughter of Pam Parker and Jerry Fitzwater. Her life was a testament to love, resilience, and unyielding compassion. Emilee was preceded in death by her beloved grandparents, Maynard and Theoria Ireland Robinson, her grandmother, Garnett Fitzwater of West Virginia, and her uncle, James (Jim) Ireland Robinson. She now joins them in eternal peace.
Emilee's legacy is carried forward by her devoted parents, Pam and Larry Parker of Flat Rock, and Jerry Fitzwater of Robinson. Brother Curtis Parker and wife Crystal and kids of Virginia. She leaves behind her treasured daughter, Braylynn Musgrave of Flat Rock, who was the light of her life, as well as her immediate family and special friends, Logan Musgrave and Aubry Farrar, who stood by her side until the end. Emilee is also survived by her very special uncle, Paul Young and wife Sandie, along with an extended family of close friends who were touched by her kindness and generosity.
A proud graduate of Robinson High School, Class of 2006, Emilee briefly attended Lincoln Trail College. Her passion for caregiving led her to work as a Certified Nursing Assistant, where she dedicated herself to the well-being of others. Later, she found joy in her role at TBIL through DXE and later MS, until her illness prevented her from continuing her work.
Emilee had a heart of gold, always willing to give the shirt off her back and more to anyone in need, regardless of her own circumstances. Her caring, loving, and supportive nature was a beacon of hope for many, especially during their darkest hours.
An outdoor enthusiast, Emilee found solace in nature. She loved camping, fishing, and the thrill of riding 4-wheelers and RZRs, often returning home covered in mud and laughter. Her happiest moments were spent around a campfire, enveloped by the warmth of family and friends.
The family will be honoring Emilee's life and legacy with a service at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. A time of visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Friday, July 17th, followed by a service officiated by Curt Goodwine at 12:00 p.m. Her request was that attendees dress casually, as she didn't want a suit-and-tie affair. Burial will be in Mound Cemetery in rural Jasper County, and in her honor, any attendees who own a Jeep are asked to drive theirs in the procession to the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to "Pamela Parker", with proceeds going to support the future of the daughter she adored.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported Emilee throughout her journey, especially Amanda Harrington, NP, for her swift response and compassionate care; Dr. Saba and staff in Effingham, and Dr. Jain and staff at IUC Chicago; the Flat Rock and Palestine Masonic Lodges for generous donations; and to all those local and surrounding businesses that made the benefit for Emilee a success. Special thanks go to Transitions Hospice and to the nurses who made Emilee's last days comfortable at home.
Emilee was a beacon of light who touched so many lives with her unwavering kindness and compassion. Her memory will forever be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to have known her. May we honor her by living with the same selflessness and love she shared with the world.
Rest in peace, dear Emilee. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten. It's not "goodbye", it's "until we meet again."
