Enid Gwendolyn Williamson

Enid Gwendolyn Williamson, 92, of Robinson, formerly of Hutsonville, passed away Friday evening, August 8, 2014, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN. She was the eldest daughter of Jacob Alva Wilson & Ruby May (Higgins) Wilson and was born on a Sunday morning, June 25, 1922 in Montgomery Township near Flat Rock on her mother’s family home south of Palestine. She was raised on the Wilson family farm just south and west of Trimble and attended the Trimble school. 
A few weeks after birth, her parents brought her to the family farm just south and west of Trimble where she spent her childhood. Enid was united in marriage on October 20, 1941 to William Stanley Williamson. She lived in Hutsonville after marrying Stanley and was a beauty shop operator for many years. She provided home care for many others for several years after she moved to Robinson. Enid was a longtime member of the Christian Church in Hutsonville and served as a Sunday school teacher and later as the Children’s Department Superintendent. She is survived by a son & daughter-in-law, Ron & Colleen Williamson (Robinson, IL); her granddaughter, Mindi Williamson (Robinson, IL); her sisters, Eleanor Reynolds (Champaign, IL), Esther Fear of Oblong, Edna Montgomery (formerly of Robinson, currently of Newburg, IN); her brothers & sisters-in-law, Earnest & Floy Wilson (Oblong) and Emerson & Kaye Wilson (Laporte, IN). She also leaves behind many nephews and nieces all across the country, as well as a host of friends and many other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Stanley on August 7, 1973; her dear grandson, Christopher Ryan Williamson on August 4, 1999; and her sister, Elsie Marlin. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 12th at 10:00 a.m. at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson with Bros. Bill Wilkinson and Joe Griffith officiating. Burial will follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery (rural Palestine). A time of visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 11th at the funeral home.
