Erma Jane Liston

Erma Jane Liston, 88, of Robinson, IL, died at 2:26 p.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at Arbor Rose of Robinson. She was born June 4, 1930 in Robinson, the daughter of George Lester Begg & Laura (Korte) Begg, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Kenneth Leon Liston on December 25, 1951, and he preceded her in death on July 31, 1987. She was also preceded in death by her brother (in infancy); and by her daughter & son-in-law, Deborah Ann Liston-Brown (on May 8, 2017) & Bobbie Joe Brown (on October 20, 2004). She is survived by her daughter & son-in-law, Sharon & Paul Prosise (Effingham, IL); by her grandsons, Sampie Leon Brown & wife Mandy (Hillsboro, OR) and Tyler Prosise (Oklahoma City, OK); by her two great-granddaughters, Emmie Brown and Josalyn Brown; as well as her beloved dog, Ginger. Erma was born and raised in Robinson and was a 1948 graduate of RHS. Though she worked as a cook for the Robinson Elks for a time, much of her career was spent working for L.S. Heath & Sons. Upon her retirement, Erma saw the world. A traveler at heart, she was able to see much of the world throughout her adventures abroad. At home, she could often be found crocheting and was also well-known for her prowess in the kitchen. She was a longtime and active member of the Robinson First Christian Church, and it brings those who are left behind great comfort in knowing that today, she is freed from the chains of this world and is experiencing paradise. A time of visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Funeral services will immediately follow and will be held at 2:00 p.m. with burial following in the Robinson New Cemetery. Rev. Tom Akers will officiate the services. Memorials may be made to Arbor Rose of Robinson, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
