Ernest L Griffith

Ernest L. Griffith, 80, of Robinson died at 9:17 p.m. on Sunday, February 24, 2013 at Crawford Memorial Hospital. He was born June 14, 1932 in Marshall, IL the son of Clarence & Edna Washburn Griffith. Ernest was a veteran, proudly serving his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1948-1952. He was a truck driver for 55 years. Ernest loved fishing and camping, passions that he carried through the years. He was also a member of the Robinson American Legion Post #69.He married Nancy Brady-McIntyre on July 23, 1983 and she survives. He is also survived by his children, Clifford (Linda) Griffith of Henderson, NV, Edna Griffith of Whitney, TX; his step-children, Harry McIntyre of Robinson, IL , Bobby (Heidi) McIntyre of Paris, IL, and Larry McIntyre of Robinson, IL; 9 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; his brother, Donald (Bobbie) Griffith of Anderson, IN; as well as several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-father, John Light; and his brother, Jack Griffith.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 28th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Burial will be in the Old York Cemetery, York, IL. Military services will be conducted by the combined units of the Robinson V. F. W. Post #4549, Palestine AmVets Post # 33, Robinson American Legion Post #69, and Flat Rock American Legion Post # 132. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Ernest Griffith Memorial Fund, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
