Ernestine "Skeet" Ramsey

Ernestine “Skeet” Ramsey, 67, of Palestine, IL, died at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at the Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson, IL. She was born June 12, 1948 in Old York, IL, the daughter of Frederick Daugherty & June Murphy Daugherty, both of whom preceded her in death. Skeet married Loren Ramsey on March 18, 1973, and he preceded her in death on January 30, 2015. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her grandson, Timothy Joe Watts, Jr; and her great-grandson, Bentley Mockler. She is survived by her children: two daughters & sons-in-law, Dee & Danny Stifle (Robinson, IL) and Darlene Calvert (Lawrenceville, IL); her two sons & daughter-in-law, Danny Ramsey (Bridgeport, IL) and Loren, Jr. “Sonny” & Lori Ramsey (Palestine, IL); 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Vicky Tedford (Palestine, IL), Pearl Certain (Palestine, IL); as well as several nieces and nephews. Skeet was a homemaker, and loved spending time with her family. She was a longtime member of the Pilgrim Holiness Church. She will long be remembered for her one-of-a-kind personality. A time of visitation will be held 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. visitation on Wednesday, November 25th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine. A grave side service will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery (rural Palestine) with Pastor Paul Gray officiating the service. Memorials may be made to the Pilgrim Holiness Church, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
