Esther M. Skidmore

Esther M. Skidmore, 90, of Robinson, IL, died at 10:16 a.m. Thursday, February 7, 2013 at her residence. She was born July 23, 1922 in Vincennes, IN, the daughter of H. Leo Clauss and Katherine Ann Primus Clauss. She worked at the coffee bar in Marathon for 20 years. Esther married Kenneth A. Skidmore on October 14, 1941 and he preceded her in death on September 15, 1992. She was also preceded in death by her parents; an infant son; 3 brothers, Paul, Meinard and Bill Clauss; and 4 sisters, Helen Melton, Mary Lashbrook, Agnes Schnell, and Betty Garrard.She is survived by her 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Duane Tomas and Marilen Skidmore (Cedar Rapids, IA) and Gary Lee and Sherry Skidmore (Robinson); her daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Larry Wheeler (Hutsonville); Grandsons Jeff Wheeler, Todd Wheeler, Steve Skidmore, Andy Skidmore, John Skidmore, Joe Skidmore; Great Grandchildren; Takoda Wheeler, Thane Wheeler, Tyler Skidmore and Brandon Skidmore, 2 brothers, David Clauss (Bridgeport, IL) and Raymond Clauss (Hermet, CA); and her sister, Marie Moody, (St. Francisville, IL). Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson with Father Aloysius Okey Ndeanaefo officiating. Burial will be in the Robinson New Cemetery, Robinson. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, February 11th at the funeral home.
