Ettie Elizabeth Christine

Ettie Elizabeth Christine, 92 of Palestine, IL, died at Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson, IL, Thursday, December 20, 2012 at 2:30 a.m. She was born February 5, 1920 in New Orleans, LA, the daughter of Fletcher William Yeager and Ettie Mary Goff Yeager. She was a member of the Palestine First United Methodist Church, a lifetime member and oldest living member of the Palestine Eagles Lodge. She worked in the electronics industry and also in the Lincoln Trail Library.Ettie is survived by her 3 daughters, Ettie Patricia (Jim) Hensley, Robinson, Gale Estelle Alspach, Annapolis, Joyce Ann (Rex) Shields, Annapolis; her 3 sons, Melvin Ennis €œBud€ Christine, Annapolis, Frederick Allen (Pam) Christine, Flat Rock, and David William Christine, Palestine; 18 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; her sister Jessie Holman, California; and several nieces and nephews.She married Melvin Ennis Christine on April 5, 1942 and he preceded her in death on August 1, 1993. She was also preceded in death by her parents; 1 grandchild, Jamie Midgett; and 1 great grandchild, Hannah Kiefer. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 22nd at 2:00 p.m. at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Palestine with Rev. Rick Catt in charge. Burial will follow in the Palestine Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday December 21st at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Palestine Eagles Auxiliary with envelopes at the funeral home.
