Eva Dale (Cornwell) Heleine joined her loving husband Johnny in Heaven at 9:45 p.m. on Monday, October 10, 2016. She was born on January 15, 1933 in Melrose Township, IL to Ross and Golda (Clements) Cornwell. She was a member of the West Union First Baptist Church. She married Johnny Heleine, Jr. on May 22, 1949 in Oblong, IL. During their marriage they raised 7 children: 6 sons and 1 daughter. She spent her life as a wife, mom, grandma, and homemaker, all while running the farm and raising a family as her husband Johnny worked as a construction laborer. Later in life, she and Johnny raised a large garden that supplied the fruit stand they ran on Route 1 in West Union, IL. She enjoyed going to auctions, fishing, and spending time with her family. She is survived by 4 sons and 1 daughter: Virgil & Julie Heleine (rural West Union), Terry & Debbie Heleine (rural West York), Jerry & Dana Heleine (rural West York), Scott & Rhonda Heleine (rural West Union), and Vicky & Jim Smith (rural West Union); by 20 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. She is also survived by 2 brothers, Carroll Cornwell (Casey) and Larry Cornwell (Marshall); by 3 sisters, Clema Stephens (La Port IN), Esther Drum (West York), and Clara Bartram (Marshall); as well as by several nieces and nephews; and by her daughter-in-law, Vickie Heleine (West Union). She was preceded in death by 2 sons, Jimmy Heleine and Ricky Heleine; by 2 grandsons, Joe Wicker and Matthew Heleine; by 2 brothers, Rex Cornwell and Daniel Cornwell; by 3 sisters, Barbara Galey, Iola Thompson, and Elizabeth Ann Cornwell (in infancy). Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 14th at the Prust-Hosch Funeral Home in West Union with Bro. Steve Dolson officiating. Burial will follow in the Harrison Cemetery, west of West Union. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday October 13th at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Harrison Cemetery or to the York Cemetery, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
