Evelyn E. Polk

Evelyn E. Polk, 82 of Robinson, formerly of rural Palestine, died 11:05 p.m. on February 11, 2009 at Crawford Memorial Hospital. She was born February 28, 1926 in Oblong, the daughter of Leroy and Grace (Walters) Masters. Evelyn married Arthur Polk on October 15, 1976 and he preceded her in death on December 9, 1990. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Sharon Miller.She is survived by her son Ralph Layton, Charleston, IL; 3 granddaughters; and 4 great-grandchildren.Graveside funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 14, 2009 at the Palestine Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m., Saturday, at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Palestine.
