Flara Jane Calvert

Flara Jane Calvert, 103, of Martinsville, IL died at 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at her daughter€™s home in Robinson. She was born April 19, 1909 in Clark County, IL, the daughter of Charles W. and Flara Mae (Bowen) Misner. Flara married Russell Calvert on June 5, 1937 and he preceded her in death on July 30, 1989. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Velma Turnipseed; 3 brothers, Darrell, Raymond, and Harold Misner; and a great grandson, Jeffery Rodgers.She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Roger Pleasant, Robinson; 2 grandchildren and their spouses, Kelly and Greg Rodgers, Robinson,David and Wanda Pleasant, Robinson; 4 great grandchildren and their spouses, Jared and Kacy Rodgers, Robinson, Tony and Kate Pleasant, Charleston, Maranda and Ryan Ward, Sun Prairie, WI, Alex and Siera Pleasant, Champaign; and 1 great-great grandson, Tyler Pleasant, Charleston.Flara loved the Lord, needlework, gardening, and working in her flowers. She was active in her Church until her health failed.Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 29th at the Willow Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church, with Pastor Kevin Small officiating. Burial was in the Butternut Cemetery. A visitation was held from 12:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson was in charge of arrangements.
