Floyd Brinkman, Sr. 82, of rural Robinson, IL, died at 6:20 p.m. on Monday, February 5, 2018 at Heritage Health in Robinson. He was born June 7, 1935 in rural Lawrence County, IL the son of Chester & Florence Brinkman, both of whom preceded him in death. He married Beatrice “Bea” Bland on September 8, 1974, and she preceded him in death on April 16, 2016. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Odie Brinkman and Albert Brinkman. He is survived by his children & their spouses, Rick Brinkman & Joanne Boren (St. Francisville, IL) Reatha & Mike Cole (Indiana), Rhonda & Rickie Waggoner (Sumner, IL), Robin & Clarence Michl (Hardinville, IL) and Floyd Brinkman, Jr. (rural Robinson, IL); and by multiple grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Floyd was a millwright for many years, but also spent much of his time farming. Few things brought him more joy than working outside. He was an outdoorsman through and through. Earlier in his life, he loved to hunt and fish, and was especially fond of trap-shooting and horseback riding. In recent years, he could almost always be found mowing. He will long be remembered as a man who had a penchant for hard work. He was a member of the Fostoria United Sportsmen Club of Fostoria, OH and of the Flat Rock First Missionary Baptist Church. A time of visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 9th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 10th at the funeral home with Rev. Mike Delaney officiating the service. Burial will follow in the Wesley Chapel Cemetery, rural Palestine. Memorials may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
