Floyd Lee Newell

Floyd Lee Newell, 81 of Sullivan, IN, formerly of Palestine, IL, died at the Sullivan County Community Hospital in Sullivan, IN on March 7, 2014 at 10:05 P. M. (EST). He was born July 11, 1932 in Robinson Township Illinois, the son of Mike F. and Almarinda Crossfield Newell. He was a mechanic at the Ford garage in Robinson for many years. He was a member of the Kingsley United Methodist Church in Fairbanks Twp, IN. Floyd married Mary Ellen Hess on March 5, 1982 and she survives. He is also survived by two daughters and his son-in-law, Lisa and Larry Stewart, West York, IL and Elizabeth Brown, Sullivan, IN; two sons, Todd Newell, Denver, CO and Charles Lee Newell, Palestine; as well as 8 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his two brothers, Carl and Don Newell, and his sister, Edna Hale. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 12th at 2:00 p.m. (cst) at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine, IL. Pastor Mark Bailey is in charge of services. Visitation will be Wednesday from noon to service time at 2:00. Burial is in the Oak Grove Cemetery, rural Palesstine.
