Frances Rodgers

Frances Rodgers, 78, of rural Flat Rock, IL, died at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at Heritage Health in Robinson, IL. She was born on January 14, 1940 in Palestine, IL, the daughter of Ralph Seaney & Minnie (Brashear) Seaney, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Frederick Arthur Rodgers on October 11, 1975, and he preceded her in death on August 16, 2012. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Austin Seaney, Leo Seaney, Hubert Seaney, George Seaney, Bob Seaney, Ray Seaney, Don Seaney, and Butch Seaney; and by her sisters, June McDaniel, Doris Shaw, and Melva Wilson. She is survived by her children, Pamela Seaney (Jewett, IL), Todd & Casey Rodgers (Flat Rock, IL), and Curtis & Kaycee Rodgers (Palestine, IL); by her grandchildren, Trenton Rodgers (Flat Rock, IL), Treyton Rodgers (Flat Rock, IL), Thatcher Rodgers (Flat Rock, IL), Cleavitt Rodgers (Flat Rock, IL), and Raylynn Rodgers (Palestine, IL). Frances grew up in Palestine and was a graduate of Palestine High School. She would go on to work for a number of local businesses over the years: the Marine Café, Patterson's Grocery, Bachelor's Cleaners, as well as the Robinson IGA. When she wasn’t busy working, she could often be found watching game shows on TV. She was also known to work crossword puzzles and was also an avid Bingo player. More than anything, she simply enjoyed her family, who could never and will never forget her. A visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 29th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Flat Rock. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home with Celebrant Curt Goodwine officiating the service. Burial will follow at the Tohill Cemetery, rural Flat Rock. Memorial contributions may be made to the “NOW Program”, a program that sends supplemental food home on weekends with a number of students in the Robinson School District.
