Frederick A. Rodgers, 80 of rural Flat Rock, IL departed life on Thursday, August 16, 2012 at 5:30 a.m. at his residence. He was born in Allendale, IL on November 11, 1931, the only son of Michael & Opal (Hunt) Rodgers. Fred was well-known in the area for his concrete work for over 40 years. He also worked as a laborer for the Labor Local #1280. Fred was a member of the Robinson Masonic Lodge #250 and the Valley of Danville Scottish Rite.He married Frances (Seaney) on October 11, 1975 and she survives. He is also survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law, Todd & Casey Rodgers and Curtis & Kaycee Rodgers; his daughter, Pam Seaney; his sister, Johann Sammons; two grandsons, Trenton & Treyton Rodgers; his granddaughter, Ray Lynn Rodgers; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Patricia.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 18th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson, with Bro. Jack Cunningham officiating. Burial will be in the Tohill Cemetery, rural Flat Rock. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Memorials may be made to Lincolnland Hospice, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
