Gary Ray Wright

Gary Ray Wright, 72, of Palestine, passed away peacefully surrounded by his children at 12:35 p.m. on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN, following many years of declining health. His smile will be missed by any and all that knew him.Gary was born September 19, 1940 Siberia, IN, to Rosa Cornwell and Victor Wright. He retired from Union Carbide in Robinson in 1991 due to his health. He was an avid coon hunter and past member of the Crawford County Coon Club.Gary is survived by his children, Scott Wright, Palestine, Rick Wright, Robinson, Bobby (and Pam) Wright, Robinson, Adrian (and Jeffery) Austin, Charleston, and Matthew (and Amy) Wright, Palestine; 8 grandchildren, Brandy Rahmat, Lindsey Wright, Shelby Lewis, Kyle Wright, Lyndell Wright, Adam Wright, Jason (and Kara) DeBelle and Madilyn Wright; 2 step-grandchildren, Lauren and Dylan Austin; 4 great grandchildren, Jasmine Hightshoe, Teana Rahmat, A.J. Rahmat, and Khloe DeBelle. He is also survived by 2 half-brothers, James Cornwell, and Tony Meiring, both of Indianapolis, IN; and several cousins.He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter Tracy Ann in 1963 and a granddaughter, Janna Lee in 1989.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 11th at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Palestine with Rev. Paul Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in the Palestine Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, February 10th at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Palestine Food Bank with envelopes available at the funeral home.
