Gene Wilkin

Clarence Gene Wilkin, 87, of Robinson, IL, died at 9:52 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at the Casey Health Care Center in Casey, IL. He was born October 23, 1927 in Robinson, IL, the only child of Samuel E. Wilkin & Martha Bashears Wilkin, who preceded him in death. Gene married Judy Mae Dolan on September 25, 1970 and she survives. He is also survived by his daughter, Lisa Dolan (Robinson, IL); and his beloved dogs and faithful companions, Harvey, Fiona, Boo, and Nikita. Gene served his country in the U.S. Army and was a Lifetime Member of the Robinson American Legion Post #69. He, alongside his wife, Judy, owned the Liquor Rack in Robinson for 33 years. He will be remembered for his dedication to his work, for the care he gave to his family, and for living life on his own terms. A time of visitation will be held from 6:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 29th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. A Celebration of Life service will follow the visitation and will begin at 7:00 p.m. with Celebrant Curt Goodwine officiating the service. During the service, there will be a time of remembrance, where friends can share favorite memories of Gene. Memorials may be made to the Robinson Humane Society, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
