Geneva May Nidey

Geneva May Nidey, 84 of Palestine, IL, died at 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 25, 2012. She was born April 14, 1928 in Palestine, IL, the daughter of Vernon Martin and Thelma Baker Martin. She was a waitress and attended the First Christian Church, Palestine.Geneva married Donald Hilderbrand and he preceded her in death. She married Richard Lee Nidey on September 1, 1967 and he preceded her in death on December 18, 1996. She was also preceded in death by her step-daughter, Linda Chiddix; her step-granddaughter, Wendy Lea Chiddix; and her brother, David Martin.She is survived by 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Gary & Nancy Hilderbrand, Palestine, Vernon & Diane Hilderbrand, Bridgeport, Larry Hilderbrand, Robinson; her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Wayne Decker, Palestine, IL; 2 step-sons and their wives, Donald L. & Judy Nidey, Victoria, TX, and Norman & Debra Nidey, Palestine; her sister, Lola Corder, Palestine; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 29th at the Palestine Cemetery, with Rev. John Brand officiating. The Goodwine Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
