George Leon Inboden, 84, of Robinson, IL, died at 4:00 a.m. (EST) on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN. He was born December 9th, 1930, in Hardinville IL, the son of Byrl “Pat” and Dora (Waggoner) Inboden. He served his country in the United States Army, joining in 1949 and continuing to serve in the Army Reserves until 1955. He began work for Mahutska Oil Company from 1953-1963, and the Marathon Pipeline from 1964 until he retired in 1981. He then owned and operated G+M Oil Co and continued to work in oil production from 1981-2006 when he sold his business and retired. His hobbies included gardening, woodworking, fishing, bible study, and spending time with family. George was a member of Highland Church of Christ and previously served as an adult bible study teacher. He married Mabel “Mim” (Mullins) Inboden on September 11th, 1954, and she survives. He is also survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law, Tim and Vicki Inboden and Evan and Julie Inboden; and daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Jeff Burge. Also surviving are grandsons Alex and Adam Burge, Keegan and Brendan Inboden; sisters Vivian Tracy and Martha Sisil; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son Mark Leon Inboden in 2006; seven brothers and sisters, Virginia Cooper, Marilyn Dix, and Fred, Max, Ira, Byrl, and Wilbur Inboden. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 7th at 10:30am at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson with Pastor Shane Bopp officiating. Burial will follow at the Robinson New Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4pm until 7pm on Friday, November 6th. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lawrence Crawford Association with envelopes available at the funeral home.
