Gerald Lee "Steve" Stephenson

Gerald Lee 'Steve' Stephenson, 79, of Robinson, IL died on November 9, 2013 at the Ridgeview Care Center in Oblong, IL. He was born October 2, 1934 in Parkersburg, IL, the son of Virgil Stephenson & Lelia Cokley Stephenson. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Back stateside, he worked at Briggs Pottery as a Caster, for thirty years. He was a member of the Robinson American Legion Post #69, the Robinson V.F.W. Post #4549, and a former member of the Robinson Moose Lodge.He married Sharon Dianne Reeds on April 3, 1975, and she preceded him in death on July 5, 1994. He was also preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Cynthia Brown.He is survived by his children & their spouses, Linda King (WA), Robert & Shelley Stephenson, (Stoy, IL), Denise & Adam Galey (Robinson, IL) and Febby Barrett (rural Robinson, IL, Thomas Brown, son-in-law (Robinson, IL); 12 grandchildren; Sean and Hannah Stephenson,(NE), Paul and Julie Christy, (NC), Vicky Christy, Samantha Christy, Jessica Galey, Nikki Galey, and Tyler Galey,Robinson, Audrey Kohout, (MN), Neal Kohout, (WA), Cameron and Tami Barrett, West Union, Hillary Barrett and Cassandra Barret Flat Rock; six great grandchildren; Annabelle Christy, (NC) Savannah Christy, Khloe Stephens, Robinson, Jordan Tracy, Dawn Tracy, and Nicolai Barrett, West Union, his sister, Myrlene Allison (Dallas, TX); as well as several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 15th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Burial will be in the Robinson New Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, November 14th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m at the funeral home.Memorials may be made to the Robinson V. F. W.
