Harold "Dean" Miller

Harold €œDean€ Miller, 80, of Robinson, IL died at 3:15 p.m. on Monday, September 2, 2013 in the comfort of his home. He was born January 24, 1933 in Robinson, IL the son of Raleigh T. Miller & Minnie Ellen Osborn. He graduated from Robinson High School in the Class of 1950. Dean retired from Marathon Oil Company as the Chief Operator of the Coker Unit after 25 years of service. He enjoyed gardening and working on old cars. An avid reader, Dean loved to read books of all kinds but especially his Bible.Dean married Joyce Swanner on July 26, 1956 and she survives. He is also survived by his two sons & daughters-in-law, Harold Timothy €œTim€ & Cheryl Miller (Valparaiso, IN) and Thomas Dean €œTom€ & Robin Miller (Robinson); three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Wayne E. & Marjorie Miller (Palestine, IL); as well as several nieces & nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Richard Allen Miller and Charles William Miller; as well as his sister, Norma Lee Williams.Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 5th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson with Pastor Paul Gray officiating. Burial will be in the Palestine Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 4th at the funeral home.
