Harry K. Woodrich, 90, of Robinson, IL, died at 9:42 a.m. on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Heritage Health in Robinson. He was born February 14, 1927 in Chicago, IL, the son of Fred & Lillian (Hackett) Woodrich, both of whom preceded him in death. He married Marie (Hilbert) on May 11, 1992, and she preceded him in death on January 20, 2007. He is survived by his children, Todd & Liz Woodrich (Robinson, IL), Janna & Brad Surrells (Palestine, IL), and Jodi & Steve Bunn (Princeton, IA); and by his grandchildren, Kendyl Surrells, Karlaina Bunn, Avery Bunn, and Heath Surrells. Harry proudly served his country during both World War II and the Korean War. Back home, he worked hard to provide for his family, and retired from Briggs Pottery as a supervisor after 50 years of service. Away from work, he enjoyed watching horse races and could also be found at his grandchildren’s ballgames. He was a lifelong fan of the Chicago Cubs, as anyone who knew him could attest. Harry was playfully ornery, but friends and family will always remember a kind and sweet man; a good-natured soul who put others before himself. Per Harry’s request, there will be no public service, and a private family graveside will be held at a later date. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson is in charge of arrangements. In honor of Harry’s love of dogs, memorials may be made to the Crawford County Humane Society, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
