Hazel Dawkins

Hazel Dawkins, 100, of Robinson, IL, died at 4:05 a.m. on Sunday, March 15, 2015 at the Ridgeview Care Center in Oblong, IL. She was born October 22, 1914 in Carlyle, IL to John Ruf, Jr & Eda (Buehler) Ruf. She was a homemaker and belonged to the Red Hat Society, the Robinson Women’s Club, the 20th Century Club, and the Carlyle Chapter of the Eastern Star. Hazel married Francis M. Dawkins on October 16, 1939 in Walsh and he preceded her in death on April 26, 1983. She was also preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her daughter, Jean Dawkins of Robinson. A committal service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17th at the Hillcrest Lakeside Mausoleum in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Centralia, IL. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, with envelopes available at the funeral home and at the committal service on Tuesday.
