Helen Louise Murphy

Helen Louise Murphy, 90, of Robinson, IL, died on November 2, 2019, at Marshall Rehabilitation and Nursing in Marshall, IL. Helen was born on July 26, 1929, in Robinson, IL, the daughter of Roy & Viola (King) Allison, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Richard Murphy, and by her brothers, Bill Allison, Robert Allison, and Jerry Allison. She is survived by her daughter & son-in-law, Carolyn & James Chapman (Crawfordsville, IN); by her son & daughter-in-law, Richard & Jill Murphy (Effingham, IL); by her 3 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; by her sisters, Doris Ellis (Robinson, IL), Sharon Adams- Berry (Mesa, AZ); by her brothers & sister-in-law, Howard Allison (Modesto, CA), Roy Lee Allison Jr. & Marge Allison (Apache Junction, AZ), Richard Allison (Sun City, AZ); as well as several nieces and nephews. Helen grew up in the Robinson area. She worked for Hershey for several years. Away from working you could find her at the Curling Iron. Many would say she gave some of the best shampoos. When she wasn't working many could find her at church. Helen devoted her life to church and was a long-time member of the Highland Avenue Baptist Church. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 9th at the Robinson New Cemetery, with Pastor Jerry McDaniel officiating the service. Arrangements are with Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson.
