Herman Kenneth Tohill

Herman Kenneth Tohill, 101 of Flat Rock, IL, died at 2:05 a.m. Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at the Cotillion Ridge Nursing Home in Robinson, IL. He was born August 8, 1911 in Crawford County, Illinois, the son of Chester Tohill and Ida Clark Tohill. He was a lifelong farmer and attended the Flat Rock Free Methodist Church.Herman married Alice M. Blaker on August 19, 1934 and she preceded him in death on July 28, 2003. He was also preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Birdie Blaker, Opal Thompson, and Eulah Gibson; two brothers, Vernon Tohill and Floyd Tohill; and two great-great grandchildren.He is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law, Keith (Rita) Tohill (Rural Robinson), Kenneth (Ella) Tohill (St. Charles, MO); his daughter and son-in-law Vivian (Wendell) Reinbold (Rural Robinson); his 6 grandchildren, Cindy Houghtaling (St. Marie, IL), Orman Tohill (Rural Robinson), Kevin Tohill (Rural Robinson), Ken Tohill (St. Charles, MO), Karen Adam (St. Charles, MO) and Amanda Mullins (Fulton, MO); 9 great-grandchildren; 2 step-great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Fern Tohill (AZ) and Rhea Blaker (Casey, IL); as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 18th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Flat Rock with Burl Rich officiating. Burial will be at the York Cemetery, rural West York. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until service time at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Memorials may be made to the Flat Rock Free Methodist Church with envelopes available at the funeral home.
