Hermon E. Johnson

Hermon E. Johnson, 83, of Robinson, IL died at 11:13 p.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Heritage Health in Robinson. He was born February 24, 1930 in Livingston, TN, the son of Grover Johnson & Dorothy Albertson.He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and earned decorations for his service. Stateside, he worked for Marathon for several years, where he worked in maintenance and in the water department. Hermon was also a member of the Robinson VFW Post #4549, the American Legion #69, as well as the Robinson Lions Club.Hermon married Methel €œJune€ Dunlap, and she preceded her in death on February 21, 2013. He was also preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Delpha Garrard.He is survived by his children, Robert Edward €œEd€ Johnson (Mt. Sterling, IL), Doris Wirth (Newton), William David €œDave€ & Martha Johnson (Annapolis), and Susan McDaniel (Robinson); 11 grandchildren; and 24 great grandchildren. He is also survived by special friend Shirley Wakefield. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Burial will be held in the Robinson New Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the V.F.W. Transportation Fund or to the Alzheimer€™s Association, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
