Homer Wiley Jean, Jr, 85, of St. Joseph, MO, formerly of Clark County, IL, died Friday, October 26, 2012 in St. Joseph. He was born June 25, 1927 in West Union, IL, the son of Homer Wiley Jean, Sr. and Stella Marie Cafin Jean. He was a Captain of the U. S. Army serving from November 1945 to November 1965. Homer then managed a warehouse in Des Plaines, IL. He was a member of the Marshall American Legion Post # 90 and the Marshall, V. F. W. Post #5975. Homer is survived his daughter, Patricia Jean (St. Joseph, MO); 2 sons, Patrick Jean (Lombard) and Philippe (Phil) Jean (Prospect Heights); 2 brothers, Virgil Jean (Hammond, IN) and Robert Jean (Terre Haute, IN); his sister, Shirley Phillips (Alexandria, VA); and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 sisters, Mildred Pinkston, Dorothy Jean and Edna Jean; and 2 brothers, Donald Lee Jean and Duane Jean.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 1, 2012 at the Prust-Hosch Funeral Home, West Union. Pastor Ken Gilllespie is in charge of services. Burial will be in the Harrison Cemetery, rural West Union. Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 1st at the funeral home preceding the services. Military services will be conducted by the combined units of the Marshall American Legion Post # 90 and the Marshall V. F. W. Post # 5975.
