Imogene Martin, 88 of Robinson, IL, died at 2:23 a.m. Thursday, April 26, 2012 at the United Methodist Village, Lawrenceville, IL. She was born May 6, 1923 in Hardinville, IL the daughter of Harry Price and Oma McColpin Price. She was a secretary, working for both the Navy Civil Service and at Marathon. Imogene was a longtime member of the Robinson First Baptist Church. She was also very active in Republican Women, a past president and past program director for the organization. She designed the float for the Republican Women that won the Governor€™s Award at the Illinois State Fair in the 1980€™s. Imogene also received the opportunity to pour tea for Governor Ryan€™s Inauguration Tea Party. She was a world traveler, and also traveled the United States extensively.Imogene married Wallace E. Martin on August 20, 1943 and he preceded her in death on November 1, 2006. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her sister Pauline and brother-in-law George; as well as her brother, Eugene Price.Imogene is survived by 2 daughters and her son-in-law, Phyllis and Gary Michael, Robinson, and Barbara Martin, Robinson; her 2 sons, Jerry Lee Martin, Tampa, FL and Price Daniel Martin, Melbourne, FL; 7 grandchildren, including locally by his grandson, Terry Michael, Palestine; 11 great grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Norma Price.Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 28th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson with Jerry McDaniel officiating. Burial will be in the Hardinville Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Robinson First Baptist Church Radio Broadcast Fund, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
