Inga Tracy

Inga Bertine Tracy, 90, of Flat Rock, IL, died at 4:10 a.m. on July 3, 2016 in the comfort of her home. She was born October 1, 1925 in Millerville, IL, the daughter of James Otis Matthews & Anna Jemima (Green) Matthews, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Byron Matthews; by her sister, Iris Montgomery; and by her nephews, Patrick Matthews, Kevin Matthews, and Scott Montgomery. She is survived by her daughter & son-in-law, Debbie & Dennis Zehner (Lawrenceville, IL); by her granddaughters & their husbands, Mindy & John Borden and Tracy & Andy Corn; by her great-grandchildren, Kennedy Borden, Mallory Borden, Mayson Corn, and Griffin Corn; by her special friend, Paul Reinbold; and by her nephews. Inga was a 1944 graduate of Flat Rock High School. She went on to work as a bookkeeper for Reinbold & Sons for 45 years before retiring at the age of 86. When she wasn’t working, Inga kept herself busy. She liked to go out with Paul and also enjoyed gardening. More than anything, she loved to spend time with her beloved family. She will long be remembered for her independent nature and for her wonderful sense of humor. A time of visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 6th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Flat Rock. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 7th at the funeral home with Rev. Burl Shinkle, Jr. officiating the service. Burial will follow in the Jones Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Flat Rock Community Center, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
