Isabelle Hudson

Isabelle Parker Hudson, 88 of Palestine, IL, died at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at the United Methodist Village, Lawrenceville, IL. She was born May 26, 1923 in Flat Rock, IL, the daughter of Charles Grover Parker and Grace Oral Burner. She was a United Transportation Union secretary for 10 years, former owner of the Marine Cafe in Palestine and a member of the Palestine First Christian Church.Isabelle married Bert Edmond Hudson on November 19, 1941 and he preceded her in death on April 12, 1997. She was also preceded in death by her parents; 4 sisters, Loma Dillie, Edris Thompson, Marie Borden, Polly Gibson; and 3 brothers, Foy Parker, Clebert Parker, and Norman Parker.Isabelle is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Tony & Judy Hudson, Palestine; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Jerry Baker, Lawrenceville, Greta and Larry Dennison, Palestine; 9 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; 3 sisters and her brothers-in-law, Marjorie Bolden, Lawrenceville, Lorena and Bob Michael, Robinson, and Donna Oppenheimer, Cincinnati, OH; 2 brothers and her sister-in-law, Raymond and Faye Parker, Memphis, TN, Bill Parker of Texas; and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 8th at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Palestine with Rev. Aryn Meritt officiating. Burial will be in the Palestine Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 7th at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church, Palestine with envelopes available at the funeral home.
