Jackie Robinson Scott, 81, of Palestine, IL, died at 4:32 a.m. (EST) on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN. She was born February 10, 1934 in Whiting, IN, the daughter of Edward Robinson & Blanche Markham Robinson, both of whom preceded her in death. She married James Albert Scott, Sr. on November 2, 1951, and he preceded her in death on December 13, 2002. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Edward Robinson and by her sister, Marie (Loveless) Bogard. Jackie is survived by her children & their spouses, Barbara Ann & Steven Dunlap (Palestine, IL),James Albert Scott Jr. (Chauncey, IL), Donna Rae & Joe Bayne (Palestine, IL), and Steven Roscoe & Teresa Scott (Palestine, IL); by her grandchildren, Stacy (Dunlap) & Steve Ulrey, Jackie (Dunlap) & Timothy Tanner, Amy Dunlap, James Scott, III, JoLynn (Scott) & Kasey Mowrer, Rachal Crawford, Marcus Crawford, LeEtta (Bayne) & Terrance Klink, Lacey (Bayne) & Keanon Aho, and Larissa (Bayne) & Josh Grove, Marlene Scott; her great-grandchildren, Robert, IV & Melanie Weaver, Sarah Weaver, Cody Ulrey, Wyatt Ulrey, Jamie Ulrey, Kendalyn Tanner, Ezekiel Tanner, Kristopher Mowrer, Benjamin Klink, Soleesa Aho, Kaison Aho, and Theodore Grove; her sister, Barbara Guess (Richmond, KY); as well as several nieces and nephews. Jackie worked for many area businesses, including the Sam Allen Clinic as a nurse-in-training, the Ettelbrick Shoe Factory, Crawford Electronics, and L.S. Heath & Sons before retiring from Victor Dana following many years of dedicated work. She was proud to have worked at Westside Christian Academy as a teacher’s aide for 13 years. She was a dedicated member of Westside Church of God for 23 years. A private family gathering will be held without any public service. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to Good Samaritan Hospice, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
