James Allen Burtron, Sr. 78, of Robinson, IL died at 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at the Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson. He was born October 2, 1936 in Tipton, IN, the son of Roy Hornbeck & Margaret Pearl Johnson. He served his country in the U.S. Army. He worked for many local companies, most notably for Victor Dana in the mill room for 28 years before retirement. Jim married Bonnie Louise Littlejohn on September 23, 1960 and she survives. He is also survived by his children, James Burtron & Cindy Alspach (Palestine, IL), Jesse Burtron (Robinson, IL) and Margaret McCord (Robinson, IL); six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; his sister, Pat Cornwell (Robinson, IL); as well as a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother, Teddy Burtron. A time of visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 20th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. A graveside service will follow the visitation at the Hardinville Cemetery, with Celebrant Curt Goodwine to officiate the service. The Robinson V.F.W. Post #4549 will be providing military honors at the cemetery.
