James Ernest Staten

James Ernest Staten, 74, of Martinsville, IL, died at 6:49 p.m. Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at the Burnsides Community Health Center, Marshall, IL. He was born June 11, 1938 in Palestine, IL, the son of John Emery Staten and Rachel Alice Mullins Staten. Jim worked for the Pratt-Whitney Aircraft Co in West Palm Beach, FL. He was a member of the Palestine Pilgrim Holiness Church and formerly attended the Hobe Sound Bible Church and still listened to it online.Jim married Fern Eleanor Dunkelberger on June 8, 1972 and she preceded him in death on October 6, 2007. He was also preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Rachel Ann; 4 brothers, Junior, Robert, John and Bill Staten; and 2 grandchildren.He is survived by his 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Martha Staten-Goodrich and Frank Goodrich, Stuart, FL, Rachel and Gary Clark, Coolidge, AZ; 4 grandchildren, Dakota and Miranda Goodrich, Timothy and Rachel Clark; and 2 sisters and brothers-in-law, Judy and Mervin Deal, Dundee, FL, Hazel and Omar Austin, Mound City, KS; and several nieces and nephews.Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 15th at the Pilgrim Holiness Church with Pastor Paul Gray & Reverend Robert Morehouse officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery, rural Palestine, IL. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until service time at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Memorials may be made to the family of James Staten.
