James M. Turner

James M. Turner, 88, of Palestine, IL, died at 7:38 a.m. Thursday, January 29, 2009 at Crawford County Convalescent Center, Robinson, IL. He was born January 28, 1921 in Palestine, IL, the son of William Turner and Cleo Miller Turner. He was a diesel mechanic for Biernbaum’s Garage for 27 years. He served in the U. S. Army during WWII in Germany and France. He was a member of the Palestine Eagles.He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Tony Turner; 1 brother, John Turner; and 2 sisters, Mary Spinner and Lois Davids.He is survived by 2 sons and daughters-in-law, David and Peggy Turner, Scottsdale, AZ, Dan and Lorraine Turner, New Hebron; his daughter and son-in-law, Donna Sue and Mark Mayer, AZ.There will be cremation with a graveside service held at a later date at the Palestine Cemetery. The Goodwine Funeral Home, Palestine is in charge of services.
