James "Jim" Howard Rice Jr.

James "Jim" Howard Rice Jr., 93, of Robinson, IL, passed away on December 1, 2025, at Robinson Rehab in Robinson, IL.

Jim was born on December 4, 1931, in Oblong, IL, the son of James and Esther (McGovern) Rice, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Robert Rice.

He is survived by his brother, Bill Rice, and his sister, Linda Alumbaugh.

Jim proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. A lifelong reader, he especially loved newspapers—any he could get his hands on. For years, he visited the library to read every paper that came through, with particular fondness for The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal. He also enjoyed following NASCAR and reading car magazines.

Private graveside services will be held at the Hutsonville Cemetery. Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson is assisting with the arrangements.
