Janet Caldwell, 61, of Robinson, IL, died on Thursday, January 19, 2017 in Indianapolis, IN. She was born May 6, 1955 in Oblong, IL, the daughter of Delbert Bennett & Kathryn Virginia (Beard) Bennett, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Sam Bennett. She married Billy Caldwell on May 3, 1993, and he survives. She is also survived by her children, Travis J. Wilson and Jennifer Kay Decker; by her step-children, Steven Caldwell, Brock Caldwell, Brandon Caldwell; by 10 grandchildren, Madison, Riki, Miranda, Allison, Aiden, Bailey, Kinley, Cammie, Jacob, and Sophia; by 1 great-grandson, Miles; by her brother & sister-in-law, Andy & Linda Bennett; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Janet was a barber, and a fixture at Bennett’s Barber Shop, where she worked for 28 years. She made so many friends there, and always enjoyed chatting with her regulars. She was heavily involved in everybody’s life, as anyone who knew her could attest. They would also remember Janet as being a kind, loving woman; a free spirit who wasn’t afraid of speaking her mind. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, who will never be forgotten. It was Janet’s wish to be cremated with a private family graveside service. She will be interred at the Robinson New Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the NOW Program, which is a program that sends supplemental food home on weekends with a specific number of students in the Robinson School District. Memorial envelopes will be available at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson, which is in charge of arrangements.
