Janet Kay Shew

Mrs. Janet Kay (McKee) Shew passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday evening. A farmer€™s wife and devoted mother, Janet grew up in Robinson the daughter of the late Harold L. and Fern A. (Mills) McKee. She graduated from Robinson High School in 1959, and was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church. On June 13, 1959, she married Gerald Shew her loving husband of 53 years. Janet enjoyed cooking and baking, making visits from her family a special occasion with their favorite meal or pie.Janet will be welcomed into Heaven by her mother and father, her younger brother, Gene, and her granddaughter Shawna. She leaves behind her husband, three children; a daughter and her husband, Jenise and Lonnie Catt of Carlsbad NM, a son and his wife Steve and Stacey Shew of Robinson IL, and a daughter and her husband Jennifer and Jim Rowe of Nashua, NH. She also leaves behind a brother, Harold W. McKee; her sister-in-law, Gayle McKee; her brother-in-law Virgil Shew and his wife Helen; six grandchildren; Breck and his wife Jazmin Catt, Stevie and Mason Shew, Cassie, Abbey and Maddie Rowe, and 2 great-grandchildren Manuel and Stephanie Rae Catt.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 30th, with Jack Kilburn officiating. Burial will be in the Robinson New Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00. Memorials may be made to the Zion United Methodist Church or to the Alzheimer€™s Association, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
