Jeff "Bodean" Melton

Jeff “Bodean” Melton, 55, of Vincennes, IN, died at 2:10 a.m. on Saturday, April 25, 2015 in Vincennes, IN, the result of an apparent homicide. Jeff was born July 16, 1959 in Oblong, IL, the son of Lyman “Bud” Melton & Loretta Waldrop Melton. He is survived by his father & step-mother, Lyman “Bud” & Barbara Melton (Annapolis, IL); his children, Michael Eugene Raley (Vincennes, IN) and Astra Rose Byers (Clay City, IL); 3 grandchildren, Donavon Raley, Serinity Raley, and Lisa Raley; 2 brothers, Jack & Faye Melton and Lyman Melton; his sister, Emma York; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Loretta Melton; and by his sister, Jane Rotholtz. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on May 1st at the Harmony Cemetery (rural Licking Township, IL) with his brother, Jack Melton officiating the service. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson is in charge of arrangements. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jeff Melton Memorial Fund, with checks payable to “Goodwine Funeral Homes”.
