Jeremy Shane "Gump" Griffin

Jeremy Shane “Gump” Griffin, 40, of Robinson, IL, died at 10:20 p.m. on Monday, September 18, 2017. He was born February 14, 1977 in Woodward, OK the son of Danny Griffin & Linda (Hightshoe). Jeremy was raised in Robinson and Owensboro, KY. Growing up, when he wasn’t busy pestering his brothers and sisters, he could be found doing tricks on his bike. As he got older, he found great peace and enjoyment in the outdoors. He spent countless hours hiking and camping, and was known to reel in a fish or two in his day. Everyone has a “Gump” story, and these memories will live on for years to come. He is survived by his children, Brock Griffin, Elijah Griffin, Natalie West, and Zach West; by his parents, Danny & Lydia Griffin (Owensboro, KY) and Linda Wheatley (Robinson, IL); by his grandmother, Delores Fralicker (Robinson, IL); by his siblings, Jackie Miller (Oblong, IL), Jason Griffin & Jessi (Owensboro, KY), Danielle Jackson (Owensboro, KY), Shawn & Laura Griffin (Oakland City, IN), and Matthew Kincaid & Christy (Owensboro, KY); by his step-siblings, Lisa Kirby, Lois Warner, Lynda Hardesty, and Lonnie Mackey (all of Owensboro, KY); as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Timmy Griffin. A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, September 22nd at the Hutsonville Cemetery with Rev. David Hyde officiating. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Jeremy Griffin Memorial Fund, with checks made payable to “Goodwine Funeral Homes”.
