Jerry Lindley, 65, of rural Palestine, IL, formerly of West Union, died at 4:18 p.m. Monday, March 23, 2009 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL. He was born April 20, 1943 in West Union, IL, the son of Okla Lindley and Rachael Williamson Lindley. He was a coal miner and a truck driver. He was a member of the Palestine AmVets Post #33 and the West Union Baptist Church. Jerry is survived by his 4 daughters and sons-in-law, Amanda and Haskell Francis, Kemper, KY, Marty Childress, Carbondale, IL, Sherry Norman, Meta, KY, Patricia and Randy Hess, Kemper, KY; 9 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Evelyn Wheeler, West York, Carol Angel, Kalamazoo, MI; and his brother, Larry Lindley, Marshall.Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 27th at the Bradbury Cemetery with Brother Don Russell officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 26th at the Prust-Hosch Funeral Home, West Union, IL. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Jerry Lindley Memorial Fund with envelopes available at the funeral home.
