Joe E. Tolle

Joe E. Tolle, 79, of Marshall, IL, died at 11:38 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, IN. He was born March 22, 1937 in Kempton, IN, the son of Raymond G. Tolle & Ruth Imogene Teter Tolle, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Jane Tolle on June 13, 2014; and by his sister, Carolyn Clark. Joe is survived by his children, Mark Iliff (Lafayette, IN), Mike & Jan Iliff (Fowler, IN), Sandy & Tom Tinsman (West Lafayette, IN), Karen & Mike Sollars (Marshall, IL), and Judy Ann Mahan (San Antonio, TX); by his siblings, Stephen L. Tolle (Marshall, IL), Larry L. & Nancy Tolle (Valparaiso, IN); Anita Mitchell (Crown Point, IN), and Fran Jackson (Livingston, IL); by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, including his granddaughter and caregiver, Jaime Seiters; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He worked in production for Cargill for many years before his physical health started to deteriorate. Away from work, he enjoyed spending time outside, gardening and especially fishing. He will long be remembered as a wonderful cook, and for his joyful, happy nature. His light will long be missed by all who knew him. A time of visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00 p.m. (Central Standard Time) on Saturday, April 23rd at the Prust-Hosch Funeral Home in West Union, IL. Funeral services will follow the visitation and will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Burial will follow in the York Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Saint Jude Children’s Hospital, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
