John Lester Tracy

John Lester Tracy, 80, of Robinson, IL, passed away at 6:15 p.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Arbor Rose Care Center, Robinson, IL. He was born December 5, 1936, in Oblong Township, the son of Lester Tracy and Letha (Alexander) Tracy. He married Dorothy (Mikeworth) Tracy on June 14, 1957 and she survives. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Richard “Dick” Tracy and Bob Tracy; by two grandchildren, Zane Tracy and Jacob Tracy. He is survived by his sons, Donald and Sheila Tracy (Palestine, IL), Marty and Jenny Tracy (Robinson, IL); by his grandchildren, Christina and Dirk Sheridan, Nichole and James Sweeney, Cade Tracy, and Hanna Tracy; step-granddaughters, Alisha Stephens and Marsha Bahr; nine great grandchildren; and sister, Sharron Boyd (Houston, TX); as well as several nieces and nephews. He was a 1954 graduate of Oblong High School. He retired from the Marathon Maintenance department in 1995 after 27 years of service. Away from work he enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening and metal detecting. John was a former member of the Robinson Moose Lodge and the Palestine Fraternal Order of Eagles. A time of visitation will be held from 10:00-12:00 p.m. on Friday, May 12th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Funeral services will immediately follow and will be held at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor David Ducommon officiating. Cremation will follow with burial at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Crawford County Humane society with envelopes available at the funeral home.
