Joshua William Rodgers

Joshua William Rodgers, 35 of Mattoon, IL, formerly of Oblong, IL, went to be with the Lord and into arms of his loving grandparents on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 in Mattoon, IL. He was born July 6, 1977 in Robinson, IL. Joshua was a chemical processing engineer at Equistar in Mattoon. He was a member of the Local #399 Operating Engineers, a volunteer fireman for the Lincoln Fire Protection District. He attended two years of fire training in College Station, TX.Joshua is survived by his wife, Stephanie O€™Dell. He is also survived by his mother and father, Jill and Randy Nidey (Oblong); his brother and sister-in-law, Nathan and Taryn Nidey (Tolono), his 2 sisters and his brother-in-law, Jessie and Spud Ault (Flat Rock), and Stephanie Stephens (Bridgeport); his niece and nephews, Macie Stephens, Josey Ault, Nick Nidey, Quinnen Nidey; his aunts and uncles, Jeff and Julie Hoke and family (Fredericksburg, VA), Jody Visner and family (Stoy), Tim and Sharron Elliott and family, Austin, TX, Marty and Gena Elliott and family (Litchfield, IL), Becky Nidey, Robinson, Gary and Kathy Nidey and family (Robinson), and Kenny and Michelle Nidey and family (Robinson); and other extended family members.He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Max and Doris Elliott and Randall and Dorothy Nidey.Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 24, 2012 at the Hardinville Cemetery with Dr. Fred White officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, September 23rd at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson, IL.Memorials may be made to any local fire department or to any local animal shelter.
