Juanita Outcalt

Juanita Outcalt, 100, of Flat Rock, IL died November 26, 2014 at Heritage Health in Robinson, IL following several years of failing health. She was born March 17, 1914 in Flat Rock, the eldest child of Homer Rich & Gladys Parker Rich. In her role as the oldest, Juanita helped raise many of her younger siblings. She enjoyed her role as homemaker, and also enjoyed quilting, playing Rook with friends, and spending time in her rose garden. She was a charter member of the Flat Rock Free Methodist Church, and took on a number of roles over the years, including Sunday School Teacher. Juanita married Dale Outcalt on May 14, 1932, and he preceded her in death on September 2, 1994. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her son, Howard Keith Outcalt; son-in-law, Don Redman; and seven brothers (and spouses), Nelson & Audrey Rich, Floyd & Roberta Rich, Harold & Ann Rich, Clay & Lola Rich, Leon Rich, Mervin Rich, Gerald Rich; and her granddaughter, Ginger Dunlap. She is survived by two sons, Bernard & Barbara Outcalt (New Haven, IN) and Ed & Pauline Outcalt (Terre Haute, IN); her daugher, Nedra Redman (Robinson, IL); five grandchildren, Brad & Julie Redman, Tammy Outcalt, Ty Outcalt, Todd & Becky Outcalt, Kevin Outcalt; grandson-in-law, Ron Dunlap; fourteen great-grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Homer, Jr & Shirley Rich and Ron & Sherrill Rich; her sister, Darlene Lawhead; her sister-in-laws, Helen Rich, Dee Rich, Edith Rich; as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 1st at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Flat Rock with Gene Beard & Todd Outcalt officiating the service. Burial will follow in the Robinson New Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 30th at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Flat Rock Free Methodist Church, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
