Judith Ann Spinner, 74, of rural Palestine died at 6:28 p.m. on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at St Mary€™s Medical Center, Evansville, IN. She was born November 4, 1938 in Honey Creek Township, rural Palestine, the daughter of Lewis and Lillie (Mills) Hout. She had worked as a secretary for Palestine Savings & Loan for many years and served as supervisor of Montgomery Township for twelve years.Judy married Melvin Spinner on August 3, 1958 and he survives. Also surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Cris and Gary Van Winkle, Lawrenceville; her son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Jada Spinner, Palestine; her grandchildren, Courtney and her husband Dustin Blackwell, Clinton Van Winkle and his fianc Krystine Wilson, Kaycee Spinner and her fianc Andrew Ehrich, and Jessica Spinner; her great-granddaughter, Adalyn Blackwell; and her sister and brother-in-law Karen and Ralph Ellis, Pinehurst, NC. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Betty Perdun; and her niece, Julie Bowen.Judy was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. She loved God and was a faithful servant to Him and her church, being a member of the Pleasant View Church, Palestine, where she served as a Deacon and in the church choir. Judy€™s life was lived always for others, most especially her husband, children, and grandchildren. Whether that be her perfect attendance record along with her husband for every softball game, soccer game, or any other school performance, or making the family€™s legendary dumplings, blackberry cobbler, and yeast rolls. Not only was she very active with her family, friends, and church, she found time to quilt and could create magic with needle and thread. There will be no public visitation, but funeral services are open to the public and will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at the Pleasant View Church (20174 East 450th Ave, Palestine IL 62451) with Rev. Paul Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Riley Hospital for Children with envelopes available at Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine and at the church.
