Kathleen Smithenry, 68, of Oblong, IL passed away peacefully at her home at 4:29 p.m. on Sunday, December 24, 2017. She was born on December 30, 1948, in Los Angeles, CA, the daughter of Ralph Pimentel & Catherine (Gillaspie) Bradbury, both whom preceded her in death. She married Roger “Toot” Watson in January of 1966, and he preceded her in death on March 14, 1969. She married Bill Hodges on January 5, 1970, and he preceded her in death on December 20, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her son, Billy Watson; by her granddaughter, Melissa Mikeworth, by her siblings, Norma Hackler, Elmore “Buck” Reynolds, Howard “Bud” Peters, Rubeun Pimentel, Ralpheal Pimentel, Aurora Delgado, Gill Pimentel, Helen Carrizales, Esper Guebara, and Rita Valdivia She married Tom Smithenry on December 12, 2003, and he survives. She is also survived by her daughter & special friend, Lesley Titsworth & Denis Bennett (Marshall, IL), by her grandchildren, Matthew Watson, Miranda Osborn, Stephanie Watson, Kelsey & Joey O’ Rourke, and Kayla & Marvin Washington; by her 9 great-grandchildren; by her siblings, Ramona Noblit, Ann Dorn, Alicia Wells, Boomer Pimentel, Bobby Masters, Anna Mae England, Lydia Borjon, Mary Crump, Grace Gonzales, Deloris Ruiz, and Susan Watson; as well as several nieces and nephews. Kathleen was a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. She had a giving heart and would help anyone in need. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, and her little dog Lacy. Kathleen’s biggest pride that brought her joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her legacy of gentle strength will continue to live on through her beloved family, who will never forget her. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. A time of visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 28th at the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, with burial following at Mound Cemetery. Reverend Father Flach, will be officiating the service. Memorials may be made to the Asher K. Watson Educational Fund, to assist in Kathleen great- grandson education, checks may be payable to Leslie Titsworth, envelopes will be available at the church and funeral home.
