Kay Caccavari, 69, of Palestine, IL, died at 8:25 p.m. on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 in the comfort of her home. She was born April 15, 1946 in Robinson, IL, the daughter of Charles Wilson & Fern Etta Seaney, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Mitch Caccavari on August 20, 1988, and he preceded her in death on December 2, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Joe Wilson. She is survived by her two nephews, Tim Wilson (Hutsonville, IL) and Robin Wilson (Annapolis, IL); by her caregiver, Brenda Nelson; as well as a number of great-nieces and great-nephews; and her poodle, RJ. Kay worked at Roadmaster in Olney from 1994 until her retirement in 2000. She also worked for the Palestine Public Library for a time. She was a member of the Palestine Eagles and a former member of the Palestine AmVets. She also attended the Outer West Market Church of Christ in Palestine. Kay will long be remembered for her giving heart and her wonderful sense of humor. A time of visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 16th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine. Funeral services will follow and will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Good Samaritan Hospice, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
